Since 1997,
the Department of
Mathematical
and Computer Sciences at CSM
has had in place a departmental assessment plan. During the first year, a set of
departmental goals and objectives were developed. The next step was the creation
and implementation of an evaluation plan. Finally, a series of evaluation
instruments were developed and implemented. This plan is regularly
reviewed and has undergone two major revisions, one in 2002 and another in 2007.
Implementation of the most recent revised plan began in January 2008.
This site reflects
the results of this on-going effort in assessment.
Additionally, an evaluation plan was implemented for the
graduate programs in the Department of Mathematical and Computer Sciences.
The goals and objectives and an evaluation plan were developed specifically for
a graduate level assessment in March 2008.

Common Student Exams and Finals
The following Mathematical and Computer
Science courses have a common syllabus and common exams and
finals. This means that all students, across sections, complete
the same exam and final and that these exams are scored using a common
scoring technique. These are referred to as the coordinated
courses.
Coordinated Courses in
Mathematics
Calculus for Scientists & Engineers I
Calculus for Scientists & Engineers II
Calculus for Scientists & Engineers III
Differential Equations
Probability & Statistics for Engineers
Coordinated Courses in
Computer Science
Programming Concepts (C++)
Data Structures
