#4 seed UNK defeats #5 seed CSM, 12-8,
in day two of 2008 RMAC Baseball Tournament

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (May 8, 2008) - The fourth-seeded University of Nebraska - Kearney Lopers defeated #5 seed Colorado School of Mines by the score of 12-8 in day-two action of the 2008 RMAC Baseball Tournament (hosted by Mesa State College) on Thursday, May 8th, at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colo. The Lopers (31-25 overall), who trailed by the count of 8-7 after six innings of play, plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a lead that they would not relinquish. Joe Nowaczyk went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and two runs scored while Joe Gonzales, who hit one of four UNK homeruns, went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. UNK starter Ryan Wrobel (7.0 IP, 13 H, 8 R, 5 ER, 0 BB, 0 K; now 4-6) picked up the victory and Ryan Seefus earned the save (1).

Craig Matsuda (double, three runs scored, RBI, SB) and Caleb Rudkin (double, two RBI, two runs scored) each went 3-for-5 for Mines (20-33 overall) while Nick Walker and Anthony Siderius both concluded the game with two hits and two RBI. CSM starter Andrew Ryan (7.0 IP, 14 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) saw his record fall to 6-6.

#5 seed CSM upsets #2 seed Metro State, 11-4,
in opening round of 2008 RMAC Baseball Tournament

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (May 7, 2008) - The fifth-seeded Colorado School of Mines Orediggers defeated #2 seed Metro State by the score of 11-4 in opening-day action of the 2008 RMAC Baseball Tournament (hosted by Mesa State College) on Wednesday, May 7th, at Canyon View Park in Grand Junction, Colo. CSM starter Cory Ast (8.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 BB, 6 K) scattered five hits and allowed just one earned run in eight innings of work to pick up the victory and improve his season record to 4-6. Craig Matsuda (double, SB) and Nick Walker each finished with three hits, two runs scored and two RBI while Jarred Wallace (1-for-3) scored a pair of runs and drove in three. Stefan Revielle went 5-for-5 with two RBI as the Orediggers pounded out 15 hits and improved to 20-32 overall.

The win marked the first post-season victory for the CSM baseball program since the 1994 campaign, when the Orediggers won three games in the now-defunct Mile High Intercollegiate Baseball League (MHIBL) Tournament. Wednesday's victory over the Roadrunners also marked the second-ever RMAC post-season win for the Orediggers, who defeated Fort Hays State University by the score of 9-1 during the 1990 RMAC Baseball Tournament.

With his 3-for-6 performance against Metro State, Walker established a new CSM individual single-season program record for hits with 79. The previous record was 78, which was set during the 2002 season by Ross Tobin. Tobin won the NCAA Division II batting title in 2002 with a .479 batting average.

Reece Gorman went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Roadrunners, who lost their seventh straight game and fell to 38-18 overall. Jake Palmer went 2-for-5 with an RBI for MSCD as starter Armando Casas (4.2 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 4 BB, 6 K; now 7-1) suffered his first loss of the season.

UNK sweeps doubleheader at Mines;
CSM qualifies as #5 seed for 2008 RMAC Baseball Tournament

GOLDEN, Colo. (May 5, 2008) - The University of Nebraska - Kearney swept Colorado School of Mines in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, May 4th, at Darden Field in Golden, winning game one by the score of 19-8 before recording a 14-10 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, UNK's Joe Gonzales went 5-for-5 with a double, HR (1), three runs scored and three RBI as starter Jared Loschen (6.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 1 K; now 6-3) picked up the win. Trey Howell homered (5) and drove in four and Chris Gillaspy had five RBI. Blake Cover and Tyler Keeble each went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored for UNK, as well. Elliott Riege (two RBI, two runs scored) and Nick Wong both collected three hits for Mines while Anthony Siderius drove in three. CSM starter Andrew Ryan suffered the loss, falling to 6-5. In game two, the Lopers snapped a 9-9 tie with two runs in the top of the sixth and never looked back. Howell homered (6) and scored four runs while Cover finished with three RBI. Reliever Nick Hall (now 3-0) earned the win for the Lopers, who improved to 29-25 overall (22-18 RMAC). CSM's Caleb Rudkin homered (5) and drove in three as reliever Chad Baudendistel saw his record fall to 2-2. Riege went 3-for-4 with a double, HR (4), three runs scored and three RBI as the Oredigger slipped to 19-32 overall (17-22 RMAC). CSM's Nick Walker went a combined 4-for-10 with four RBI on Sunday. Nebraska - Kearney, Mines split doubleheader

GOLDEN, Colo. (May 3, 2008) - The University of Nebraska - Kearney and Colorado School of Mines split a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, May 3rd, at Darden Field in Golden. CSM prevailed 10-7 in the opener before UNK posted a 7-6 victory in game two.

In game one, a four-run eighth inning gave the Orediggers a lead they would not relinquish. Craig Matsuda went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI while Stefan Revielle (2-for-4, double) scored three runs. Marshall Schuler (now 4-2) inherited the victory in relief of starter Cory Ast (7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K) and Chad Baudendistel earned the first save of his career. UNK's Brad Hull went 2-for-3 with a HR (2), two runs scored and a pair of RBI while reliever Matt Boganowski (now 1-1) suffered the loss. For the box score, click here.

UNK (27-25 overall, 20-18 RMAC) snapped a 6-6 tie with a run in the top of the seventh to provide the margin of victory in the nightcap. Leon de Winter went 3-for-3 with two HR (4) and three RBI as reliever Ryan Seefus improved to 4-5. Revielle went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Mines (19-30 overall, 17-20 RMAC) while reliever Marco Peña fell to 0-2. With their split against the Lopers on Saturday, the Orediggers have clinched a berth in the 2008 RMAC Baseball tournament, which will be held on Wednesday - Saturday, May 7th - 10th (location is still to be determined).

The victor of Sunday's Metro State at Mesa State series finale at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colo., will win the 2008 RMAC Regular-Season Championship and earn the right to host the 2008 RMAC Baseball Tournament. Mesa State has prevailed in the first three contests between the Plains Division rivals.

CSM's last appearance in the RMAC Baseball Tournament came in 1999, when the Orediggers needed - and achieved - a four-game series sweep of UNK (in Golden) at the conclusion of the regular season to earn that berth.

The Orediggers and Lopers will conclude their four-game series on Sunday, May 4th, with another RMAC doubleheader at Darden Field. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

CSU - Pueblo defeats Mines, 24-5

GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 27, 2008) - Colorado State University - Pueblo defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 24-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball action on Sunday afternoon, April 27th, at Darden Field in Golden. For the box score, click here.

Rutger Bovard went 4-for-7 with two HR (4), four runs scored and seven RBI for CSU - Pueblo as starter Mario Mattivi (6.0 IP, 12 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K; now 7-1) earned the win. Jason Fobes and Nick McLaughlin each had three hits and three runs scored for the Thunderwolves, who improved to 25-27 overall (14-22 RMAC).

Caleb Rudkin (two doubles, two RBI), Stefan Revielle (two runs scored), Aaron Gremmer and Jonathan Trivisonno each had two hits for Mines as Ben Smiley saw his record fall to 1-3. Elliott Riege went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles as the Orediggers fell to 18-29 overall (16-19 RMAC).

The Orediggers will conclude the regular-season portion of their 2008 schedule by hosting the University of Nebraska - Kearney on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th, at Darden Field in Golden. CSM splits RMAC twinbill with CSU - Pueblo

GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 26, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines split a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader with Colorado State University - Pueblo on Saturday afternoon, April 26th, at Darden Field in Golden. The Thunderwolves won by the score of 8-1 in game one before Mines registered a 5-4 victory in game two.

CSU - Pueblo's Joe Proto (7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) tossed a three-hit complete game in the opener to improve his season record to 4-5. Rutger Bovard (1-for-4, double) drove in two runs while Mike Sanchez went 2-for-3 with one RBI. CSM starter Cris Rogers (4.1 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) saw his record slip to 2-7. For Ryan, who is 6-1 over his last eight starts, it was his third complete game of the 2008 campaign. Jarred Wallace (3-for-3, two doubles, run) and Elliott Riege (1-for-3) each had two RBI as Mines improved to 18-28 overall (16-18 RMAC). CSM defeats CSU - Pueblo, 8-7, in 10 innings

GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 25, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines defeated Colorado State University - Pueblo by the score of 8-7 in 10 innings on Friday night, April 25th, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball action at Darden Field in Golden. For the box score, click here.

Leading by the score of 6-3 after eight innings of play, CSM surrendered four runs to the Thunderwolves in the top of the ninth. The Orediggers, who plated a run in the bottom of the ninth and held CSU - Pueblo scoreless in the top of the 10th, got an RBI single from Nick Walker in the home half of the 10th to secure a victory in the series opener.

Walker (2-for-4, run, SF) and Aaron Gremmer (1-for-5, run, double) each had two RBI for Mines (17-27 overall, 15-17 RMAC) while Stefan Revielle went 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored. Nick Wong went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles as Marshall Schuler (now 3-2) picked up the win in relief of starter Cory Ast (8.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 8K).

Jesus Hernandez (9.1 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 5 ER, 8 BB, 15 K; now 2-7) suffered the loss for CSU - Pueblo (23-26 overall, 12-21 overall) as Jon Proesl and Ryan Wager drove in two runs apiece.

Mines splits RMAC doubleheader with Regis University

GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 19, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines and Regis University split a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, Apr. 19th, at Darden Field in Golden. RU prevailed 18-8 in the opener before the Orediggers notched a 16-7 victory in game two.

Trailing by five runs after the first five-and-a-half innings in game one, the Orediggers plated four runs in the bottom of the sixth to trim their deficit to one. However, Regis University scored 10 times in the top of the seventh to pull away. RU's Curtis Hornaday (2-for-3, double, triple, two RBI) scored three runs, Peter Whatley (two runs scored) went 3-for-5 and Etienne Materre had three RBI. Jordan Bruns (two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored), Tyler Hageman, Max Regalado (three runs scored) and Stephen Hanson (two RBI) all finished with two hits apiece as Gerard Mohrmann (5.2 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 6 K; now 5-4) earned the win and Reuben Gallegos picked up the save (1). Jordan Bruns (4-for-6, three runs scored) also hit a pair of HR (5) as starter Anthony Musielak (5.0 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 5 K) improved to 4-3. Zach McBeth earned his first save of the season as the Rangers improved to 20-16 overall (16-12 RMAC).

(Apr. 13, 2008) - The Metropolitan State College of Denver swept Colorado School of Mines in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, Apr. 13th, at Auraria Field in Denver, winning game one by the count of 9-3 before registering a 5-2 victory in the nightcap.

Metro's Eric Mansfield went 2-for-4 with a HR (5) and three RBI in the opener as starter Ted Jamison (7.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 9 K) fanned nine and improved to 4-2 on the season. CSM's Nick Walker (two runs scored) went 3-for-4 with his team-leading 11th stolen base and Caleb Rudkin homered (2) as starter Cory Ast (6.1 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 7 BB, 5 K; now 3-5) suffered the loss. The 10th-ranked Roadrunners won the opener by the score of 9-1 before Mines recorded a 5-4 victory in game two.

Metro's Brennan Brown went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in game one as starter Steven Green (7.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K; now 9-1) earned the win. Colorado Christian defeats Mines, 7-2, in rain-shortened non-RMAC game

GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 9, 2008) - Colorado Christian University defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 7-2 in an NCAA Division II non-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball game on Wednesday night, April 9th, at Darden Field. The Cougars' Bud Wilborn went 3-for-4 with a double and five RBI while Chad Barnhill (double, stolen base, RBI) went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Cameron Corbett (7.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 3 K) went the distance for CCU to improve his season record to 2-3. Chris Polton (2-for-4) also scored two runs as Colorado Christian University improved to 11-28 overall.

Caleb Rudkin and Jonathan Trivisonno each had a hit and an RBI for the Orediggers, who fell to 13-22 overall. Nick Wong (three walks, stolen base) scored both of CSM's runs while reliever Braden Neptune fell to 0-2.

Mesa State sweeps four-game set at CSM with 21-11 win in series finale

GOLDEN, Colo. (Apr. 6, 2008) - Mesa State College defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 21-11 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball action on Sunday afternoon, April 6th, at Darden Field in Golden. For the box score, click here.

Steve Moralez went 5-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, two runs scored and seven RBI as the Mavericks (27-12 overall, 18-6 RMAC) swept the weekend series. Grant Vickers went 3-for-5 with a HR (5), two RBI and four runs scored, as well, as reliever T.J. Stastny (3.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K; now 1-0) picked up the victory. Matt Miller, who also homered (9), accounted for five of Mesa State's 29 hits on Sunday.

CSM's Caleb Rudkin went 2-for-5 with a double, HR (1) and five RBI for the Orediggers, who fell to 13-21 overall (11-12 RMAC). (Apr. 5, 2008) - Mesa State College swept Colorado School of Mines in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, April 5th, at Darden Field in Golden. The Mavericks won by the count of 7-5 in game one before recording a 14-0 shutout victory in the nightcap.

The Mavericks' Kyle Hogue went 2-for-4 with a HR (13) and two RBI in the opener as starter T.J. Butch (5.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K; now 4-0) earned the victory. Matt Miller also drove in a pair of runs as Kevin Chritz registered his second save of the year. NMHU downs CSM, 13-12, in 10 innings

LAS VEGAS, N.M. (Mar. 30, 2008) - New Mexico Highlands University defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 13-12 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon, Mar. 30th, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball action at Brandt Field in Las Vegas, N.M. For the box score, click here.

Trailing by the count of 11-6 after seven, Mines (13-17 overall, 11-8 RMAC) tallied five runs in the final two frames to force extra innings. CSM took a brief one-run lead in the top of the 10th inning, courtesy of a Nick Walker sacrifice fly, but the Cowboys (16-19 overall, 5-15 RMAC) pushed across two runs of their own in the bottom of the 10th to earn a split of the four-game conference series.

Kyle Gerhart went 4-for-6 with three RBI and three runs scored for NMHU as reliever Tim Martinez (now 1-1) picked up his first win of the year.

CSM's Nick Wong homered (3) and drove in four while Walker and Caleb Rudkin each recorded two hits and a pair of RBI. Reliever Marshall Schuler (now 2-1) suffered his first loss of the season as Mines played error-free baseball. Aaron Gremmer and Sam Cooper (two runs scored) rapped two hits apiece, as well. Walker, who is now hitting .464 (51-for-110) this season, has now hit safely in 29 of 30 games in 2008, and 36 of 37 dating back to the final seven games of the 2007 campaign.

Mines edged the Cowboys 9-8 in the opener before posting a 16-3 victory in game two.

Mines defeats CCU, 14-13, to sweep series

GOLDEN, Colo. (Mar. 22, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines defeated Colorado Christian University by the score of 14-13 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball action on Saturday afternoon, March 22nd, at Darden Field in Golden. For the box score, click here.

After scoring eight runs in the bottom of the first inning, Mines led by the score of 9-1 after three innings of play. The Cougars, however, scored eight runs of their own in the top of the fourth to knot the score at nine apiece. The Orediggers proceeded to score twice in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a lead that they would not relinquish. Trailing 14-9 after seven innings, Colorado Christian University threatened with a four-run eighth, but CSM hung on to earn a sweep of the four-game series.

The Orediggers' Sam Cooper went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI while Stefan Revielle doubled and drove in three. Nick Walker (2-for-4, double) scored twice and drove in a pair of runs and Elliott Riege scored three runs. Aaron Gremmer went 2-for-2 with an RBI as reliever Chad Baudendistel (3.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K; now 2-1) earned the victory. Marshall Schuler was credited with his fifth save. UNK takes two from Mines, 6-5 & 9-7

KEARNEY, Neb. (Mar. 15, 2008) - The University of Nebraska - Kearney swept Colorado School of Mines in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, Mar. 15th, at Memorial Field in Kearney, Neb. UNK registered a 6-5 victory in 11 innings in the first game before going on to win 9-7 in the nightcap.

In the opener, UNK scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra innings. Elliott Riege hit a solo HR (2) in the top of the 10th inning to give CSM a temporary one-run advantage, but an Oredigger error in the bottom of the 10th allowed UNK to knot the game at five apiece. After the Lopers held Mines scoreless in the top of the 11th inning, Chris Gillaspy's one-out RBI single in the bottom of the 11th provided the margin of victory for UNK. Gillaspy finished the contest 3-for-6 with a run scored and an RBI as Nick Hall (now 1-0) inherited the victory. In game one, CSM starter Cris Rogers (7.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K; now 1-3) scattered six hits in seven innings of work to pick up his first victory of the 2008 campaign. PUEBLO, Colo. (Mar. 9, 2008) - Colorado State University - Pueblo defeated Colorado School of Mines by the score of 14-9 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball action on Sunday afternoon, March 9th, at Rawlings Field in Pueblo, Colo. For the box score, click here.

The Thunderwolves' Jon Proesl went 2-for-3 with a HR and three runs scored while John Kennedy had three RBI. Thomas Cordova (4-for-5, two doubles, two runs scored), Mike Jasperson and Jason Fobes each drove in a pair of runs as reliever Chris Garcia (now 3-1) earned the victory for CSU - Pueblo (12-8 overall, 4-4 RMAC).

Caleb Rudkin went 2-for-4 with two walks, a pair of doubles, two RBI and three runs scored as CSM fell to 4-13 overall (3-4 RMAC). Stefan Revielle (2-for-5) had two RBI, Sam Cooper (2-for-3) scored a pair of runs and Nick Walker went 3-for-5 as the Orediggers played their third consecutive error-free game (and sixth in their past 10 games). Elliott Riege (now 0-1) suffered the loss for Mines.

CSM sweeps CSU - Pueblo, 11-5 & 6-5

PUEBLO, Colo. (Mar. 8, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines swept Colorado State University - Pueblo in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, March 8th, at Rawlings Field in Pueblo, Colo. CSM won by the count of 11-5 in game one before posting a 6-5 victory in the nigthcap.

In the opener, CSM broke open a 4-4 game with a seven-run seventh to snap a 28-game losing streak to CSU - Pueblo. The Orediggers' Sam Cooper went 2-for-4 with a HR (1), two runs scored and two RBI as Marshall Schuler (now 2-0) picked up the victory in relief of Cory Ast (5.0 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 K). Jarred Wallace (two RBI) and Caleb Rudkin also scored a pair of runs as the Orediggers tied a season-high with their 11-run output. Mines, Regis split twinbill

DENVER, Colo. (Mar. 1, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines and Regis University split a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) baseball doubleheader on Saturday, March 1st, at Regis Field in Denver. CSM came away with a 9-5 victory in game one while the Rangers won the nightcap by the score of 14-6.

In the opener, the Orediggers overcame a one-run deficit with a five-run seventh inning to secure their first conference win of the 2008 campaign. CSM's Aaron Gremmer went 2-for-4 with a HR (2) and four RBI, Caleb Rudkin drove in a pair of runs and Jarred Wallace (2-for-4) hit his first HR of the year. Chad Baudendistel (now 1-0) picked up the win while Nick Walker and Alan Gallegos each rapped a pair of hits. PHOENIX, Ariz. (Feb. 24, 2008) - Grand Canyon University swept Colorado School of Mines in an NCAA Division II baseball doubleheader on Sunday, February 24th, at Brazell Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz. The Antelopes recorded a 10-6 victory in the opener before posting a 9-6 win in game two.

In game one, GCU's Tyler Bair homered and drove in three as starter Ryan Hoffner (5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K) got the win. Elliott Riege went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored for the Orediggers while Nick Walker and Alan Gallegos each rapped two hits. CSM starter Brian Wagner (now 0-1) suffered the loss. GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 16, 2008) - Emporia State University swept Colorado School of Mines in a non-conference NCAA Division II baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Darden Field, winning game one by the count of 17-7 before recording a 16-7 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, the Hornets' Richie Stewart drove in four runs while Matt Marasco went 3-for-5 with a HR (1), two runs scored and three RBI. Andy Anderson (4-for-5) drove in four runs and Conner Crumbliss (3-for-4) scored four runs as reliever Ty Reese (4.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K; now 1-0) picked up the win for Emporia State. Mines, ENMU split doubleheader

GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 10, 2008) - Colorado School of Mines and Eastern New Mexico University split a non-conference NCAA Division II baseball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Darden Field. The Greyhounds prevailed 8-6 in the opener while Mines produced a five-run seventh to come away with a 9-8 victory in the series finale.

In Sunday's first game, Freddy Carmona (2-for-2, three runs scored), Seth Clabaugh (3-for-5, HR [1], two runs scored) and Kevin Thompson (2-for-5) all drove in three runs for ENMU. Evan Orsak (now 2-0) was credited with the win and Keith Balderaz earned the save (2). Stefan Revielle, Nick Walker (2-for-3, two runs scored) and Michael Svejcar (3-for-5, two RBI) all enjoyed multi-hit games for the Orediggers. Trailing by four runs entering the bottom half of the seventh inning, the Orediggers (1-3 overall) rallied for five runs to secure a one-run victory. A one-out, bases-loaded walk to Walker plated CSM's first run, and Anthony Siderius followed with a three-run double to knot the contest at eight apiece. Two batters later, after CSM's Elliott Riege was issued a base on balls, Svejcar's line-drive single to center plated Jonathan Trivisonno, who was pinch-running for Siderius. CSM reliever Marshall Schuler (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K), who tossed scoreless frames in the sixth and seventh, picked up the victory to improve to 1-0 on the season. Siderius (2-for-5), who also homered (1) in Sunday's nightcap, finished with five RBI while Revielle, Walker (2-for-2, two RBI) and Aaron Gremmer (2-for-3) each scored a pair of runs. GOLDEN, Colo. (Feb. 9, 2008) - Eastern New Mexico University swept Colorado School of Mines in a non-conference NCAA Division II baseball doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Darden Field, winning the opener 20-11 and posting a 2-0 shutout victory in the nightcap.

In the first game, Jonathon Marbury (three runs scored) and Clayton Young (double, triple) each went 3-for-6 with five RBI for the Greyhounds. ENMU's Tyler Hayes (4-for-6) drove in four runs and Matt Chavez scored four runs. Mitch Wolfe (4-for-5, two doubles, two RBI) and Paden Vendrely scored three runs apiece, as well, as ENMU starter Seth Clabaugh (5.0 IP, 10 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 5 BB, 5 K) improved to 1-1 on the season.
