LAST TIME OUT: The Colorado School of Mines men’s basketball team outscored CU-Colorado Springs, 48-34, in the second half in claiming a 90-72 victory in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference basketball action on Saturday night in Volk Gymnasium. With the win, CSM improved to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the RMAC and surpassed its victory total from all of last season (5). The first half was tight throughout as there were 10 ties during the first 20 minutes of action. However, CSM sophomore guard Stephen Bahl hit a 40-footer as time expired in the first half to give Mines a 42-38 lead at the half. The Orediggers then took control of the game early in the second half by outscoring the Mountain Lions, 15-3, over the first seven minutes of the second half. Bahl finished with a game-high 25 points to go along with two assists and two steals. Senior center Mike McNish added a season-high 20 points, six boards and five blocks, while redshirt freshman guard Chad Friehauf tallied a career-high nine points and five boards. Junior forward Farris Broussard grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds.

WANNA BE A BAHLER: Sophomore guard Stephen Bahl has lived up to his name early this season. The Broomfield, Colo., native is leading the RMAC this season as he is averaging 28.0 points per game. He has scored at least 25 points in seven of the eight games this season, including a career-high 43 points in a 77-69 victory over Augustana on Nov. 30.
