MINES MEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES AT COLORADO CHRISTIAN, 84-80 LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines senior guard Stephen Bahl (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) scored a game-high 32 points on 11-of-22 shooting from the floor, including 6-of-10 from three-point range, but the Orediggers dropped their third straight game, 84-80, to Colorado Christian Tuesday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at Cougar Fieldhouse. Mines trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half and cut the deficit to as few as three points, but could not get any closer. The loss drops CSM to 13-7 overall and 7-5 in the RMAC, while CCU improves to 16-4 overall and 8-4 in the RMAC. CSM sophomore guard Franklin Ryk (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain) aided Bahl with 17 points and junior guard Kevin Wagstaff (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart) added 16 markers. CCU was led by Matt Vaughn's 21 points. Brent Hobba added 20 and Ash Cannan notched a double double with 15 points and game-best 13 boards. Mines will return to action Saturday night when it hosts Nebraska-Kearney at 8:00 pm in Volk Gym. -- OREDIGGERS -- |
