CSM MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS AT FORT LEWIS, 82-73

DURANGO, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team had its three game winning streak snapped as Fort Lewis handed it an 82-73 setback Saturday night in Whalen Gymnasium.

The Orediggers (6-3, 2-1 RMAC), trailed by just one point (53-52) with 10:24 to play in the game, but the Skyhawks would go on a 20-0 run over the next five minutes of play to open up a 73-52 advantage. Ten of the points came at the free throw line for FLC, which attempted 45 free throws, including 32 in the second half. Mines shot 20 free throws in the game.

CSM placed three players in double figures, inclduing senior forward Farris Broussard (San Jose, Calif./Independence) who tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Kevin Wagstaff (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart) led Mines with 16 points, four assists and four rebounds, while senior guard Stephen Bahl (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) added 15 points and five boards.

Derek Yutzy led the Skyhawks (7-1, 3-1 RMAC) with 20 points, while Nick Brooks registered a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Mines will return to action Monday night when it plays at Adams State at 7:00 pm.
