MINES MEN'S BASKETBALL UPSETS TOP-RANKED METRO STATE, 74-71

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's basketball team upset No. 1-ranked Metro State, 74-71, Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action in front of a standing room only crowd of 1,283 fans, including former Denver Nuggets Head Coach Jeff Bzdelik, in Volk Gymnasium.

Mines (13-4, 7-2 RMAC) received a game-best 24 points from senior guard Stephen Bahl (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) who also added eight boards and seven assists. Junior guard Kevin Wagstaff (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart) added 22 points, while senior forward Farris Broussard (San Jose, Calif./Independence) chipped in nine points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots.

Metro State (15-1, 8-1 RMAC) was led by Mark Worthington who posted 18 points and six boards. Michael Morse added 17 points and eight rebounds, while Greg Muth (11) and Keith Borgan (14) also reached double figures for the Roadrunners.

CSM is slated to return to action on Thursday night when it travels to Chadron State for an 8:00 pm game.
