MINES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS COLORADO CHRISTIAN, 61-55

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines women's basketball team recorded its school record 17th win and school record 11th conference win with a 61-55 win over Colorado Christian in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Tuesday night in Volk Gymnasium.

The win improves CSM to 17-7 overall and 11-5 in the RMAC.

Mines was led by sophomore center Angela Pearson (Arvada, Colo./Maranatha) who produced a double-double of 12 points and a game-best 11 rebounds off the bench. Junior center Ashley Gronewoller (Pagosa Springs, Colo./Pagosa Springs) added a game-high 17 points and seven boards, while senior forward Kristin Horkey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) produced 10 points, eight boards and four assists.

CCU was paced by Sara Davis who scored a team-best 16 points.

The Orediggers are slated to return to action Friday night when they play at Nebraska-Kearney. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
