MINES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS CHADRON STATE, 66-59 GOLDEN, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines senior guard Kristin Horkey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) scored a career-high 26 points and added seven rebounds and five assists to lead the Orediggers to a 66-59 victory over Chadron State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night in Volk Gymnasium. With the win, the Orediggers improved to 16-7 overall and 10-5 in the RMAC. The 16 wins tie the school-record for wins in a season, while the 10 conference wins are a school-record. In addition, the senior class of Horkey, Kim Kilmer (Stoneham, Colo./Prarie), Heather Hoops (Golden, Colo./Wheat Ridge) and Gina Cornelio (Tucson, Ariz./Sal Pointe) is now the all-time winningest class in school history with 48 career wins. CSM, which trailed at halftime (25-20) outscored the Eagles in the second half, 46-34, as it shot 16-of-27 (.593) from the floor. Sophomore center Angela Pearson (Arvada, Colo./Maranatha) aided Horkey with a double-double effort of 17 points and game-best 10 boards. Cornelio added 10 points and six rebounds and Kilmer chipped in four points and seven rebounds. The Eagles (6-17, 5-10 RMAC) were led by Morgan Campbell who scored a team-best 19 points off the bench.
