MINES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS CSU-PUEBLO, 57-54

PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines senior guard Kristin Horkey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) posted her second straight double-double with 16 points and a career and game-high 13 rebounds to lead the Orediggers to a 57-54 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo Thursday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at Massari Arena.

The Orediggers (11-3, 6-1 RMAC) took a 57-54 lead with 20 seconds left on a layup from sophomore forward Angela Pearson (Arvada, Colo./Maranatha). The Thunderwolves had a chance to tie the game at the end of regulation, but a three-point attempt by Kyle Haag bounced off the front of the rim with one second left to preserve CSM's win.

Mines senior guard Kim Kilmer (Stoneham, Colo./Prarie) just missed a double-double as she tallied 11 points and nine rebounds, junior center Ashley Gronewoller (Pagosa Springs, Colo./Pagosa Springs) added 10 points and seven rebounds, while Pearson chipped in eight points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots off the bench.

CSU-Pueblo (3-11, 1-5 RMAC) was led by Stacey Nutt's 18 points and six rebounds.

Mines is slated to return to action Monday night when it hosts Colorado College at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium.
