MINES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO REGIS, 62-50

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines women's basketball team fell to 12-4 overall (6-2 RMAC) as it was defeated by Regis on Friday night, 62-50, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action in Volk Gymnasium.

Mines, ranked seventh in this week's North Central Regional Poll, received 11 points and six rebounds from junior center Ashley Gronewoller (Pagosa Springs, Colo./Pagosa Springs). Senior guard Kim Kilmer (Stoneham, Colo./Praire) added 10 points and eight boards, while senior forward Kristin Horkey (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Regis (13-3, 8-0 RMAC), ranked first in the North Central Region, received a game-best 26 points, five rebounds and seven steals from Diana Lopez and Breanne Burley added 16 markers off the bench.

CSM returns to action Saturday night when it hosts Metro State in Volk Gymnasium. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 pm.
