MINES WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO NEBRASKA-KEARNEY, 80-57 GOLDEN, Colo. - The Nebraska-Kearney women's basketball team placed five players in double figures and claimed an 80-57 victory over Colorado School of Mines in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night in Volk Gymnasium. UNK, which led at halftime, 38-20, improved to 11-10 overall and 9-4 in the RMAC, while Mines fell to 14-7 (8-5 RMAC). CSM was led by sophomore center Angela Pearson (Arvada, Colo./Maranatha) who produced a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Kim Kilmer (Stoneham, Colo./Praire) added 11 points, five boards and three steals. Amy Mathis led Kearney with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Kalee Modlin scored a game-best 18 points, while Erin Jones added 16 and Amber Whitlock and Liz Fischer scored 10 points apiece. Mines is slated to return to action next Friday when it hosts Chadron State at 6:00 pm in Volk Gym. - OREDIGGERS -- |
