CSM CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT RMAC CHAMPIONSHIPS GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's and women's cross country teams were in action Saturday morning at the 2004 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships at Long Lake Park. The Orediggers served as hosts of this year's championships. The women's squad, ranked 17th in Division II, finished fourth of 11 teams, while the men, ranked 24th, were also fourth of 10 teams. Leading the way for Mines was the duo of juniors Heather Beresford (Monument, Colo./Lewis Palmer) and Hannah Davey (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) who finished eighth and ninth, respectively, to earn All-RMAC honors. Beresford finished in 22:39, while Davey ran the 6K course in 22:51. On the men's side, sophomore Joel Hamilton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) missed out on All-RMAC status by just six seconds as he placed 11th in 26:17 on the 8K course. Sophomore Michael Rooney (Arlington, Va./Gonzaga) was 15th in 26:34.
