CSM CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN SHOOTOUT

BOULDER, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's and women's cross country teams were in action on Saturday morning at the Rocky Mountain Shootout at the University of Colorado.

The women's squad, ranked 10th in the nation, finished third of eight teams with 69 points, while the men's squad was third of nine overall with 90 points.

Leading the way for the women was sophomore Hannah Davey (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen) who was ninth overall in a time of 22:17, while classmate Heather Beresford claimed 27th overall in 23:29.

On the men's side, sophomore Michael Rooney (Arlington, Va./Gonzaga) was 22nd overall in a time of 26:59, while senior Jason Stewart (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) was 27 overall with a time of 27:22 and sophomore Joel Hamilton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty) was one slot back in 27:32.

CSM returns to action on Oct. 23 when they it hosts the RMAC Championships in Golden, Colo.
