#81 Brian Sump

Colorado School of Mines senior wide receiver/return specialist Brian Sump has established himself as one of the premier players in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and all of Division II. He has earned all-conference honors as a wide receiver, as well as All-American accolades as a return specialist. In addition, Sump has been honored as the Preseason and Final Special Teams Player of the Year by the RMAC and several national football publications. Sump claims 21 school records and has the possibility to add more by the end of the 2002 season. With more than 2,000 career receiving yards and more than 5,000 career all-purpose yards, Sump is a strong candidate for the 2002 Harlon Hill Trophy.

at Oklahoma Panhandle (8/31/02): Caught eight passes for 84 yards ... returned two kicks for 26 yards.
vs. South Dakota Tech (9/7/02): Hauled in one pass for 31 yards and a touchdown ... five returns for 114 yards, including first career punt retun for a touchdown (45 yards).
at Western New Mexico (9/21/02): Caught eight balls for career-high 233 yards and three scores ... four returns for 94 yards ... 336 all-purpose yards, which marked a career high for a game
vs. Chadron State (9/28/02): Made nine catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns ... two returns for 59 yards ... three tackles.
vs. Fort Hays State (10/5/02): Caught four passes for 83 yards in just one half of action ... totaled one return for 13 yards.
at Nebraska-Kearney (10/12/02): Did not play due to an ankle injury
