LOREN DAWSON
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH - LINEBACKERS & SPECIAL TEAMS

2008 marks Loren Dawson's first season as the linebackers and special teams coach at Colorado School of Mines.

Prior to his arrival in Golden, Dawson served as the assistant head coach, defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. From 1996-01, Dawson was the assistant head coach, strength coach, recruiting coordinator and assistant athletic director at Phoenix College.

Dawson's prep experience includes five years (1990-95) at Bourgade Catholic High School in Phoenix, where he served as the head coach during his final two seasons.

A 1986 graduate of Casa Grande High School (Arizona), Dawson earned both his bachelor's (1993) and master's (1998) degrees in Education from Arizona State University.

Dawson and his wife, Stephanie, have a son, Gaven (9), and a daughter, Faith (4).
