DAVID BERNARD
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH - SECONDARY

David Bernard is entering his third season as an assistant football coach at Colorado School of Mines.

After working with the defensive linemen and linebackers his first two years, Bernard will serve as an assistant coach in the secondary this season.

Last season, Bernard helped guide an Oredigger linebacking corps which had two All-RMAC honorees. In addition, Jared Heath was an All-Region and All-American pick.

Two years ago, Bernard had a hand in helping junior defensive linemen Pat Carroll and Mark Donnelly earn Second Team All-RMAC honors. Donnelly finished second on the team with six sacks, while Carroll had five tackles for loss. In addtion, redshirt freshman defensive lineman Marin Richardson was chosen as the RMAC Freshman Defensive Player of the Year.

Bernard comes to Golden after serving as the head coach of the Marine Air Support Squadron 2 Team. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1999. He was a member of the football team as a cornerback.

A native of Binghamton, N.Y., Bernard graduated from Harpursville High School in 1995 where he lettered in football and golf. Bernard currently resides in Golden.
