Tolu Lasaki is entering his second season as the defensive
backs coach for the Colorado Mines football program.
Last season, Lasaki led a group of defensive backs which accounted for
17 interceptions, including at least one in each contest. He also helped
in the development of cornerback Grant Newton who earned Third Team All-Region
accolades.
Lasaki is a 2002 graduate of Colorado Mines with a Bachelors of
Science in Electrical Engineering and currently works as a test engineer.
He also graduated from Smoky Hill High School in 1997 and lettered in

a school-record 15 passes in 41 games. Lasaki started 37 of those games.
One of his many playing highlights came during the Orediggers 52-45

from 17 points down with 1:19 left to force overtime, Lasaki snagged the
game-winning interception on the Tigers first overtime possession.
