J.C. PERKINS
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH - DEFENSIVE BACKS

J.C. Perkins is starting his fourth season as an assistant
coach with the Colorado School of Mines football team.
After working the first two seasons with the wide receivers, Perkins will
work with the defensive backs for the second straight year.
Perkins is a 2000 graduate of Colorado School of Mines. Prior to arriving
at CSM, Perkins played football at Cimarron Memorial in his hometown of
Las Vegas, Nevada.
As a wide receiver at Mines, Perkins lettered three times, including the
2000 season under current Head Coach Bob Stitt. During his senior season
of 2000, Perkins played in nine games and caught 16 passes for 167 yards
and one touchdown.
In his first two seasons as an assistant coach with the Orediggers, Perkins
helped a group of Oredigger receivers haul in 434 passes for more than
6,000 yards and 52 touchdowns. In addition, he helped in the development
of two All-RMAC honorees, and All-Region and All-American pick Brian Sump
in 2002.
Last season, Perkins helped CSM free safety Tim Miller earned First Team
All-RMAC accolades.
