MARK VALLEE TIES FOR FIRST AT NORTHWEST REGIONALS
Senior Misses Out on Spot at Nationals in Sudden Death Playoff

COMPLETE RESULTS

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Colorado School of Mines junior golfer Mark Vallee (Louisville, Colo./Monarch) finished tied for first place at the 2006 NCAA Division II Northwest/West Regional Championships contested Monday through Wednesday at The Legacy Golf Resort.

Vallee fired rounds of 70, 73 and 72 to take home top honors with Corey Grace of St. Cloud State. Grace shot rounds of 73, 73 and 69 to tie Vallee's total of 215.

Because Vallee was the low individual in the Northwest Region, he had a chance to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships to be contested May 16-19 in Daniels, W.V. However, the junior lost out in a sudden death playoff to Sean Packer of Western Washington who claimed the lone individual spot in the Northwest/West Region.

The event concludes the 2005-06 season for CSM.
