FORT LEWIS SOCCER TOPS REGIS, 2-1, IN OVERTIME
IN RMAC SEMIFINALS

GOLDEN, Colo. -- Fort Lewis sophomore forward Bernardo Costa (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) scored off an assist from senior midfielder Josh Veryser (Aurora, Colo.) 35 seconds into the first overtime to lift the Skyhawks to a 2-1 victory over Regis in the second Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Semifinal match at Brooks Field Saturday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Rangers (9-8-2) jumped on the board at the 48:21 mark as junior forward Oliver Pertuit (Billings, Mont./Billings) netted a goal off an assist from sophomore defender Eric Tormoehlen (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Highlands Ranch).

However, Fort Lewis (9-6-5) was able to tie the game at 1-1 with just under seven minutes to play in regulation on a goal by freshman forward Cole Sweetser (North Richland Hills, Texas). Costa assisted on the score.

Fort Lewis redshirt freshman Nick Clark (Durango, Colo.) posted five saves to earn the victory, while Regis junior Mike Montgomery (Broken Arrow, Okla./Northern Oklahoma) registered 14 saves.

The second-seeded Skyhawks will now play top-seeded Colorado Mines in the RMAC Championship Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm at Brooks Field. FLC has now played in the last six conference championship games and have won the last five RMAC Tournament Titles.
