HEAD WOMEN'S SOCCER COACH
FRANK KOHLENSTEIN

Frank Kohlenstein begins his third year on the sidelines as the head coach of the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer program. He is also in his tenth season as the head coach of the CSM men's soccer program.

Last season, Kohlenstein led the CSM women to a 5-9-4 overall mark and a 2-7-3 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in its second season as a varsity sport.

Kohlenstein owns a 384-169-49 career record, as the 2007 season will be his 28th at the collegiate and professional level.

He spent the 1997 season as the head coach of the Richmond Kickers and the 1995 season at the helm of the Raleigh Flyers. Kohlenstein spent 10 years at the University of South Carolina - Spartanburg, where the Rifles made three trips to the Final Four. Kohlenstein also served six years at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte (NCAA Division I), leading the team to its first-ever NCAA playoff berth. Kohlenstein guided UNC - Charlotte to a total of three NCAA playoff appearances during his time with the 49ers.

While taking five different teams on five different levels to the playoffs, Kohlenstein has coached 26 All-Americans, 10 Academic All-Americans, one Rhodes Scholar, five National Team players, and more than 131 All-Conference athletes.

Kohlenstein received his B.S. in Physical Education from Florida State in 1976, and his Masters in Exercise Physiology from Montana State in 1977.

Kohlenstein and wife, Debbie, reside in Golden with their dogs Aussie (17), Digsby (8), Scarlett (5), their cats Bubbster (16) and Cobbie (14), and their guinea pig Gus (4).
