Minschwaner, Rennemann commit to Colorado School of Mines

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men's basketball program has received National Letters of Intent from Dale Minschwaner (Albuquerque, N.M. / Sandia Preparatory School) and Alex Rennemann (Vancouver, Wash. / Skyview High School) to begin playing for the Orediggers in 2008-09, as announced today by CSM Head Coach Pryor Orser.

A 6'5", 200-lb. center who will graduate from Sandia Prep in 2008, Minschwaner averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.7 blocked shots per game as a junior in 2006-07.

"We are thrilled to have Dale join our program," said Orser, who begins his seventh year at Mines in 2007-08. "Dale is a very versatile player both offensively and defensively. He has great touch around the basket and can finish with authority. Dale has range from beyond the three-point arc and is a perfect fit for our unique offensive system. He is a tough-minded defensive player with good bounce, great timing and tremendous shot-blocking ability."

Minschwaner, whose prep honors include First Team All-District 5AAA, First Team All-Metro 1A-3A, Metro Defensive Player of the Year 1A-3A and First Team All-State, is also a member of Sandia Prep's National Honor Society. Minschwaner plans to major in Chemical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines.

"Dale is also a perfect fit for us academically as he comes from a strong academic background," stated Orser. "His father is a physics professor at New Mexico Tech."

A 6'8", 215-lb. forward who will graduate from Skyview High School in 2008, Rennemann averaged 10.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as a junior in 2006-07.

"Alex has a tremendous upside and he will be a special player within our system," said Orser. "Alex is a skilled offensive player with a soft shooting touch. He can run, jump and rebound out of his area. Alex is a very unselfish player, and he possesses a great combination of athleticism and basketball skills."

Rennemann, who also played for West Side Hoops, a Seattle-based AAU program, carries a 3.96 grade point average at Skyview. Rennemann plans to major in Engineering at Colorado School of Mines.
