CSM SWIMMING COMPETES AT COLORADO COLLEGE

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed at Colorado College on Friday afternoon. The men's team picked up a 191-59 victory, while the women's squad dropped a 158-140 decision.

Junior Andy McAliley (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) paced the men's squad with three first place finishes. He won the 200 Free (1:48.44), the 200 Back (2:02.18) and the 500 Free (5:07.29).

Freshman Renee Rainguet (Golden, Colo./D'Evelyn) led the women's team with three wins. She was first in the 100 Breast in 1:10.36, which missed the school record by .32 seconds. Her split of 32.77 in the first 50 meters was a school record. Rainguet was also first in the 100 Free (57.92) and the 200 Breast (2:36.96).

Both teams are slated to return to action Friday when they host the CU Club Team at 4:00 pm. The men will also swim on Saturday at Wyoming at 1:00 pm.
