MINES MEN'S SWIMMING COMPETES AT NEBRASKA OMAHA
Kummer Leads Way With NCAA "B" Cut in 100 Breaststroke

OMAHA, Neb. - The Colorado School of Mines swimming and diving teams were in action over the weekend at the Nebraska-Omaha Invitational. The men's team placed third of eight schools, while the women's squad was 7th of 10.

Leading the way for Mines was junior Travis Kummer (Erie, Colo./Niwot) won the 100 Breaststroke with an NCAA "B" cut time of 58.74. Kummer was also second in the 200 Breast (2:11.40), third in the 100 Fly (52.29) and seventh in the 200 IM (2:03.86).

Junior Andy McAliley (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) was the only other CSM swimmer to win an event as he claimed the 400 IM with a time of 4:13.51.

Freshman Renee Rainguet (Golden, Colo./D'Evelyn) led the Oredigger women's squad as she set her second school record of the season with a time of 2:33.30 in the 200 Breast to place 11th overall.

The men's and women's teams will return to action from Dec. 18-20 at the UNLV Winter Invitational.
