MINES VOLLEYBALL GOES 1-3 AT NORTH DAKOTA TOURNAMENT
Kelly Desens Named to All-Tournament Team

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team posted a 1-3 mark at the 2004 North Dakota Tournament over the weekend. CSM dropped two matches on Friday to Minnesota-Crookston, 3-0, and St. Cloud State, 3-0. The team rebounded on Saturday to win its opening match against Northern State, 3-0, before falling to top-ranked Concordia St. Paul, 3-0, to round out the tournament.

Junior right side Kelly Desens (Aurora, Colo./Overland) led the way for Mines all tournament and was named to the All-Tournament Team. She finished the four matches with 30 kills, six assists, four aces and 24 digs.

Junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Shawnee, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) amassed a team-leading 45 digs, while sophomore setter Kat Muterspaugh (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) dished out 92 assists on the weekend.

CSM (1-3) returns to action on Wednesday night when it hosts Calvin College in Volk Gymnasium at 7:00 pm.
