MINES VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT METRO STATE, 3-2 GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped a hard fought 3-2 decision to Metro State on Friday night at the Auraria Events Center. Game scores were 32-30, 27-30, 34-32, 28-30, 15-8. CSM (9-14, 4-10 RMAC) placed five players in double figures in kills, including junior outside hitter Samantha Bauer, sophomore middle hitter Amanda Rebol and freshman middle blocker Nicole Leeper who tallied 13 each. Junior outside hitter Kelly Desens (12) and sophomore outside hitter Caitlin Mabe (11) also reached double figures. Junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks amassed a match-best 34 digs, while Desens totaled 19 and sophomore setter Katherine Muterspaugh registered 44 assists and 10 digs. The Roadrunners (13-11, 10-4 RMAC) were led by Julie Green who tallied a match-best 22 kills. Sheena McLaughlin added 21 kills and 18 digs, while Sarah Lively dished out 59 assists. Mines is slated to return to action Saturday night when it travels to Colorado Christian for a 7:00 pm match. -- OREDIGGERS -- |
