MINES VOLLEYBALL TOPS COLORADO CHRISTIAN, 3-0

GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team snapped a five-match losing skid with a 3-0 victory over Colorado Christian in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Saturday night in Volk Gymnasium. Game scores were 30-20, 30-23, 30-26.

CSM, which hit .231 for the match, received a match-high 17 kills and 11 digs from junior outside hitter Samantha Bauer (Lakewood, Colo./Dubai UAE). Freshman middle blocker Nicole Leeper (Brighton, Colo./Brighton) added 11 kills and two blocks, while junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Paola, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) totaled a match-best 20 kills and freshman setter Celeste Cashel (Glenwood Springs, Colo./Glenwood Springs) amassed a match and career-best 45 assists.

CCU (2-13, 0-6 RMAC) was paced by Amy Corder who tallied seven kills and 13 digs. Meredith Hawryluk added a team-best eight kills, while Krista Rosebush tied for the team-high with 13 digs.

Mines (6-9, 1-5 RMAC) will return to action on Friday night when it travels to New Mexico Highlands for a 7:00 pm conference match.
