MINES VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN FOUR TO MESA STATE GOLDEN, Colo. - The Colorado School of Mines volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match to Mesa State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action Friday night in Volk Gymnasium. Game scores were 29-31, 30-27, 30-25, 30-19. Leading the Orediggers was sophomore middle hitter Amanda Rebol (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) who tallied 15 kills and six blocks. Junior outside hitter Kelly Desens (Aurora, Colo./Overland) amassed 12 kills and 17 digs, while sophomore setter Katherine Muterspaugh (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) tallied 54 assists and 15 digs and junior libero Sarah Alsbrooks (Paola, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) led the team with 30 digs. Nikki Green led the Mavericks (11-7, 6-3 RMAC) with a match-high 30 kills and 22 digs. Drew Choules added 18 kills and 30 digs, while Stacey Vogel amassed 18 kills and 14 digs. Mines (6-13, 1-9 RMAC) returns to action on Saturday night when it hosts Western State at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium. -- OREDIGGERS -- |
