UC - Colorado Springs defeats CSM in three games

GOLDEN, Colo. (Nov. 3, 2007) - The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs defeated Colorado School of Mines in three games (30-21, 30-26, 30-26) on Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

UCCS's Brooke Akers (.640 hitting %) and Heidi Fehringer each recorded 16 kills while Laura Meeter led all players with 18 digs. Diane Sheldon tallied 13 kills, as well, as the Mountain Lions improved to 18-10 overall (16-3 RMAC).

Colorado School of Mines was led by Nicole Leeper, who amassed eight block assists, 16 kills and a .444 hitting % in 36 total attempts (zero attack errors). Kaity Edmiston had nine kills, Tara Schwein registered four block assists and Emily Collett dished out 38 assists. Michelle McElhaney and Celeste Cashel posted 11 and 12 digs, respectively, as the Orediggers finished their 2007 season with an 11-20 overall record (6-13 RMAC).

Leeper concludes her career at Colorado School of Mines with 320 block assists, good for second all-time in the CSM record book. In addition, Leeper's 999 career kills ranks her sixth all-time in CSM program history. Cashel wrapped up her four years in an Oredigger uniform with 611 digs and 295 assists.

Regis University defeats CSM in three games

GOLDEN, Colo. (Nov. 2, 2007) - Regis University defeated Colorado School of Mines in three games (30-28, 30-19, 30-27) on Friday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

Meghan Meehan (three block assists) recorded a match-high 18 kills and amassed a .382 hitting % for Regis University (11-16 overall, 9-10 RMAC). Three other Rangers also reached double figures in kills, including Liz Franz (16), Jessica Howe (11) and Melissa Piazza (11). Devin Eckhardt distributed 52 assists while Kristin Thompson (five service aces) and Hannah Tautolo registered 17 and 16 digs, respectively.

Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (.324 at the net, 11 digs) led CSM with 13 kills while Celeste Cashel tallied a team-most 13 digs. Michelle McElhaney had 12 digs, Kaity Edmiston contributed nine kills and Emily Collett (27 assists) led all players with four total blocks. The Orediggers (11-19 overall, 6-12 RMAC) finished with 9.0 total team blocks on Friday evening.

Colorado School of Mines will conclude its 2007 season by hosting UC - Colorado Springs on Saturday, November 3rd, at 7:00 p.m. at Lockridge Arena.

Mines defeats Colorado College in four games

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Oct. 30, 2007) – Colorado School of Mines (NCAA Division II) defeated Colorado College (NCAA Division III) in four games (31-29, 25-30, 30-24, 30-25) on Tuesday evening in non-conference NCAA volleyball action at Reid Gymnasium. For the box score, click here.

Elizabeth Serra-Hsu recorded a team-best 20 kills for the Orediggers, who improved to 11-18 overall. Serra-Hsu also gathered 21 digs while Kaity Edmiston (.375 at the net) recorded 16 kills. Nicole Leeper finished with 15 kills, Emily Collett (three service aces) had 51 assists and Celeste Cashel posted a match-high 25 digs.

The Tigers, who came into the match ranked 23rd in NCAA Division III, got a match-high 23 kills from Emily Perkins (.404 hitting %) while Anna Clithero amassed 16 kills and a team-high 20 digs. Colorado College committed 10 service errors while falling to 20-9 overall.

Colorado School of Mines will conclude its 2007 season on Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd, hosting Regis University and UC - Colorado Springs, respectively. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Lockridge Arena.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (Oct. 27, 2007) – Colorado School of Mines defeated Colorado Christian University in three games (30-28, 30-21, 30-24) on Saturday evening in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at The Cougar Zone. For the box score, click here.

Nicole Leeper compiled a .576 hitting % while recording a match-high 21 digs for the Orediggers (10-18 overall, 6-11 RMAC). Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (.306 at the net) finished with 15 kills and 11 digs while Emily Collett distributed 46 assists. Celeste Cashel led all players with 15 digs as Mines registered a .305 team hitting %.

Kelly Clausen delivered 13 kills for Colorado Christian University (2-26 overall, 1-17 RMAC).

Colorado School of Mines will play at Colorado College (NCAA Division III) on Tuesday, October 30th, at 7:00 p.m. The Orediggers will then conclude the regular-season portion of their schedule by hosting Regis University and UC - Colorado Springs on Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Roadrunners get past CSM in four games

DENVER, Colo. (Oct. 26, 2007) – The Metropolitan State College of Denver defeated Colorado School of Mines in four games (30-28, 30-25, 29-31, 30-28) on Friday evening in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at the Auraria Events Center. For the box score, click here.

Metro State's Julie Green-McFarland led all players with 24 kills while Kelsey Ellis registered a match-best 29 digs. Four other Roadrunners reached double figures in digs, including Bri Ostler, who had 27. MSCD improved to 14-12 overall (12-5 RMAC).

CSM's Kaity Edmiston, who recorded a .353 hitting %, had 13 kills and eight block assists. Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (team-high 23 digs) and Nicole Leeper (.308 hitting %) each finished with 14 kills while Celeste Cashel posted 21 digs. Emily Collett dished out 43 assists as CSM fell to 9-18 overall and 5-11 in conference play.

GOLDEN, Colo. (Oct. 24, 2007) – Colorado School of Mines (NCAA Division II) defeated Johnson & Wales University (Denver, Colo.; NAIA) in three games (30-6, 30-17, 30-11) on Wednesday night in collegiate volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

The Orediggers’ Kaity Edmiston, who amassed a .450 hitting % in 20 total attacks, led all players with 12 kills. Celeste Cashel recorded match-highs in digs (15) and service aces (five) while Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (.389 hitting %) finished with eight kills and nine digs. Emily Collett dished out 31 assists as Colorado School of Mines improved to 9-17 overall.

Robyn Kenul led Johnson & Wales in kills (five) and digs (nine). With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 3-19 overall.

Chadron State gets past CSM in four games

GOLDEN, Colo. (Oct. 20, 2007) - Chadron State College defeated Colorado School of Mines in four games (30-24, 24-30, 30-20, 34-32) on Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

The Eagles' Lindsy Heisler recorded a match-high 26 kills and hit .309 at the net in 68 total attacks. Heisler, who also tallied four service aces, added 15 digs and a pair of block assists as Chadron State improved to 9-17 overall and 6-9 in RMAC competition. CSC's Lauren Emory, who compiled a .262 hitting % in 61 total attacks, racked up 23 kills of her own. Jennifer Luatua amassed 38 digs and Jamie Weingart had 69 assists.

Kaity Edmiston, who hit .412 (51 total attacks) on Saturday evening, led Colorado School of Mines with 25 kills. Edmiston also compiled six total blocks while Nicole Leeper (.348 hitting %) posted 20 kills. Five Orediggers reached double figures in digs, including Elizabeth Serra-Hsu, who had 30. Kirstie Bunting had 20 digs and Emily Collett distributed 64 assists as Colorado School of Mines fell to 8-17 overall (5-10 RMAC).

Colorado School of Mines will return to action on Wednesday, October 24th, hosting Johnson & Wales University (Denver, Colo.) at Lockridge Arena. #22 UNK defeats Colorado School of Mines in four games

GOLDEN, Colo. (Oct. 19, 2007) - The University of Nebraska - Kearney defeated Colorado School of Mines in four games (30-22, 30-27, 27-30, 30-22) on Friday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

Nebraska - Kearney, which is currently ranked 22nd in NCAA Division II, got a match-best 20 kills from Nikki Scott. Scott hit .405 at the net for the Lopers, who improved to 22-4 overall (13-2 RMAC). Jeri Walkowiak finished with 18 kills and Cola Svec (12 digs) distributed 69 assists while Shannon Clausen (.429 hitting %, 11 digs) and Erica Burson recorded 17 and 16 kills, respectively. Five Lopers reached double figures in digs, including Kelli Wemhoff, who led all players with 22.

Elizabeth Serra-Hsu compiled 11 kills, 12 digs and three block assists for the Orediggers (8-16 overall, 5-9 RMAC). Kaity Edmiston, who had nine total blocks, led CSM with 14 kills. Nicole Leeper recorded a team-high 12 kills, hit .522 at the net (23 total attacks) and compiled five block assists as Colorado School of Mines (8-15 overall, 5-8 RMAC) won for the fourth time in its past five matches. Kirstie Bunting finished with a match-best 15 digs, Emily Collett distributed 38 assists and Kaity Edmiston (.348 hitting %) collected 11 kills. Elizabeth Serra-Hsu finished with a match-high 17 kills for the Orediggers, who improved to 7-15 overall (4-8 RMAC). Serra-Hsu led CSM with 24 digs while Nicole Leeper (.407 hitting %, four block assists) and Keesha Erickson (.364 hitting %) amassed 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Emily Collett (four block assists) dished out 41 assists and Kirstie Bunting recorded 16 digs as Colorado School of Mines concluded the match with 10.0 total team blocks. Kaity Edmiston contributed eight kills and six block assists, as well.

Natali Murdock tallied a team-best 16 kills for Western New Mexico University and Jessica Lindgren led all players with 27 digs. The Mustangs, who hit just .109 at the net, fell to 13-6 overall (9-2 RMAC).

Amy Thompson recorded an 11-kill, 53-assist, 16-dig triple-double for the Mountaineers while Tynet Calhoun and Amanda Passehl finished with 19 and 18 kills, respectively. Jamie Hamsa added 20 digs for WSC, which improved to 7-12 overall (4-7 RMAC).

Elizabeth Serra-Hsu led all players with 20 kills and collected a team-most 26 digs. Nicole Leeper (four total blocks) and Keesha Erickson registered 11 kills apiece as Kirstie Bunting amassed 16 digs.

CSM wins second straight with five-game victory at Adams State

ALAMOSA, Colo. (Oct. 5, 2007) - Colorado School of Mines posted a road win for the second time in as many nights by defeating Adams State College in five games (30-25, 28-30, 24-30, 30-22, 15-13) on Friday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) volleyball action at Plachy Hall. The Orediggers (6-14 overall, 3-7 RMAC), who finished with 16.0 total team blocks, had four players reach double figures in kills, including Elizabeth Serra-Hsu. Serra-Hsu (.339 at the net, five total blocks) established match-high totals in kills (24) and digs (18). Emily Collett (seven total blocks) contributed 63 assists and seven total blocks while Kaity Edmiston registered 11 kills and eight total blocks. Nicole Leeper (five block assists) and Keesha Erickson recorded 14 and 16 kills, respectively, and Celeste Cashel accounted for 15 digs. The Orediggers finished with 11 service aces on Friday, including four by Erickson, three by Collett and a pair by Ali Browder. Browder's service aces came on the final two points of the match to help secure the victory for CSM.

Andrea Tuck (14 digs, .429 hitting %) concluded the evening with a team-most 17 kills for Adams State (7-11, 3-7 RMAC). Darcy Jennings had 14 kills and 10 block assists in a losing effort.

Fort Lewis upends Orediggers in three

FLC's Sara Feehan (.419 hitting %) topped all players with 17 kills while Adrianne Dettler amassed a match-high 25 digs. The Skyhawks, who hit .318 at the net as a team on Saturday, improved to 12-5 overall (8-1 RMAC) with the win.

The Orediggers got eight kills apiece from Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (eight digs) and Kaity Edmiston while Kirstie Bunting finished with a team-best 15 digs.

Drew Choules (11 digs) and Tessa Andrews each finished with 18 kills for the Mavericks while Ashley Loftsgard amassed a match-best 19 digs. Dara Waialae (six service aces) and Krista Ubersox (16 digs) recorded 36 and 24 assists, respectively, as Mesa State improved to 7-8 overall (3-4 RMAC).

Three Orediggers reached double figures in kills, including Elizabeth Serra-Hsu (14 digs, four block assists), who led CSM with 15. Fort Hays State University defeats Colorado Mines in four games

GOLDEN, Colo. (Sept. 25, 2007) - Fort Hays State University defeated Colorado School of Mines in four games (23-30, 30-24, 30-19, 30-20) on Tuesday night in NCAA Division II non-conference volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

The Tigers (12-8 overall) had four players reach double figures in kills, including Neeley Remmers, who finished with a team-most 16. FHSU's Whitney Miller led all players with 28 digs while Kellyn Thaut contributed 14 kills and 15 digs. Sarah Schinstock hit .478 at the net in 23 total attacks (14 kills), as well.

Kaity Edmiston recorded a match-high 24 kills and a .556 hitting % for the Orediggers, who fell to 4-12 overall. Kirstie Bunting and Celeste Cashel compiled 23 and 19 digs, respectively, as CSM lost its fourth consecutive match.

Nebraska - Kearney was paced by Alison Glidden, who registered a .316 hitting % and led all players with 17 kills. Jeri Walkowiak finished with 10 kills and 11 digs while Cola Svec posted 16 digs and 50 assists. As a team, UNK (13-3 overall, 5-1 RMAC) hit .362 at the net, compared to that of .043 for the Orediggers.

Kaity Edmiston recorded a team-best 10 kills for Colorado School of Mines, which fell to 4-11 overall (1-5 RMAC). Elizabeth Serra-Hsu compiled 10 digs and Emily Collett distributed 21 assists as the Orediggers lost their third straight match.

Colorado School of Mines, which outhit the Eagles .227 to .160 at the net, got 17 kills apiece from Elizabeth Serra-Hsu and Kaity Edmiston (10 digs). Mines downs CCU in three

GOLDEN, Colo. (Sept. 14, 2007) - Colorado School of Mines defeated Colorado Christian University in three games (30-24, 30-14, 30-22) on Friday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference volleyball action at Lockridge Arena. For the box score, click here.

Kaity Edmiston, who finished with four total blocks, led all players with 11 kills. Tara Schwein (.692 hitting %) and Keesha Erickson (.455 hitting %) each registered 10 kills while Emily Collett (four service aces) dished out 37 assists. Kirstie Bunting amassed a match-high 16 digs, as well, as CSM improved to 4-8 overall (1-2 RMAC).

Colorado Christian University (0-12, 0-4 RMAC) got eight kills from Cassie Schott and 12 digs from Julia Maben.

Colorado School of Mines will host Metro State on Saturday, September 15th, at 7:00 p.m. at Lockridge Arena. The Orediggers will then embark upon a two-match road trip, playing at Chadron State and Nebraska - Kearney on Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd, respectively.

CSM defeats Colorado College in five

GOLDEN, Colo. (Sept. 11, 2007) - Colorado School of Mines defeated Colorado College in five games (19-30, 30-28, 26-30, 31-29, 15-13) on Tuesday night in non-conference NCAA volleyball action at Volk Gymnasium. For the box score, click here.

Kaity Edmiston finished with 12 digs, six total blocks (three solo) and a match-high 19 kills for the Orediggers (NCAA Division II). Elizabeth Serra-Hsu compiled 18 kills and 18 digs, as well, as CSM improved to 3-8 overall. Michelle McElhaney and Emily Collett (48 assists, four block assists) recorded 18 digs apiece while Keesha Erickson (nine kills) and Tara Schwein accounted for five and seven block assists, respectively. The Orediggers concluded the evening with 101 total digs and 14.5 total team blocks.

Emily Perkins compiled 17 digs and a team-most 15 kills for the Tigers (NCAA Division III), who fell to 6-3 overall. CC's Erika Pirotte (match-high 22 digs) and Michelle Rybka tallied 11 kills apiece in a losing effort.

CSM (0-2 RMAC) will host Colorado Christian University on Friday, September 14th, and Metro State on Saturday, September 15th, at Lockridge Arena. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Regis University upends Orediggers in three

DENVER, Colo. (Sept. 8, 2007) - Regis University defeated Colorado School of Mines in three games (28-30, 16-30, 26-30) on Saturday night, September 8th, in RMAC volleyball action at the Regis Fieldhouse. For the box score, click here.

Kaity Edmiston, the most recent RMAC / Baden East Division Player of the Week, compiled 12 kills (team high), 10 digs and seven block assists while Elizabeth Serra-Hsu finished the match with nine kills, four block assists and a team-best 15 digs. Michelle McElhaney added 10 digs and Emily Collett dished out 28 assists as the Orediggers dropped to 2-8 overall (0-2 RMAC).

Regis improved to 3-7 overall (1-1 RMAC).

CSM will host Colorado College (NCAA Division III) on Tuesday, September 11th, at 7:00 p.m. at Volk Gymnasium.

CSM falls in three at UCCS

COLO. SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 7, 2007) - The University of Colorado - Colorado Springs defeated Colorado School of Mines in three games (21-30, 30-32, 23-30) on Friday night, September 7th, in RMAC volleyball action at The Lions' Den. For the box score, click here.

Kaity Edmiston, the most recent RMAC / Baden East Division Player of the Week, and Keesha Erickson (.346 hitting %) each finished with 13 kills for the Orediggers. Emily Collett (.429 hitting %) amassed 36 assists and Elizabeth Serra-Hsu posted 11 kills and a match-best 15 digs. Edmiston hit .500 at the net (20 total attacks) and compiled four block assists for CSM, which fell to 2-7 overall (0-1 RMAC).

UCCS improved to 4-7 overall (2-0 RMAC).

CSM will play at Regis University on Saturday, September 8th, at 7:00 p.m. The Orediggers will next play at home on Tuesday, September 11th, hosting Colorado College. The match against Colorado College, which is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., will be played at Volk Gymnasium.

Orediggers post 2-2 mark at
Days Inn - Denver West Oredigger Volleyball Classic

GOLDEN, Colo. (Sept. 1, 2007) - The Orediggers went 2-2 during the third annual Days Inn - Denver West Oredigger Volleyball Classic on Friday and Saturday, August 31st and September 1st, at Lockridge Arena.

At the conclusion of the weekend, the Orediggers' Kaity Edmiston was named to the All-Tournament Team.
