SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Colorado School of Mines wrestling team competed at the 2005 All-California Collegiate Invitational on Saturday at San Francisco State University. The squad finished seventh of 15 teams with 44.5 points and had two place winners.

Junior heaveyweight Derek Thompson (Cortez, Colo./Dolores) claimed third place in his weight class with a 3-1 record, including a technical fall win (18-3) in the third place match.

Senior 165-pounder Peter Jenson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart) was the other CSM place winner as he took fourth place with a 2-2 mark. Jenson lost the third place match, 8-2 to Shane Seibert of Fresno State.

Mines is slated to return to action on Wednesday night when it travels to Western State for a 7:00 pm RMAC dual.
