COMPLETE RESULTS

HAYS, Kan. - The Colorado School of Mines wrestling team competed at the Fort Hays State University - Bob Smith Open on Saturday. The open was not scored and the Orediggers had an individual champion and a place winner.

Sophomore 149-pounder Nathan Pilcher (Fort Morgan, Colo./Fort Morgan) earned his second consecutive title as he won his weight class, while senior 197-pounder D.C. Hazen (Arlington, Wash./Arlington) claimed third place in his weight division.

Pilcher, who also won the Northern Colorado Open two weeks ago, outscored his opponents, 35-11, and won the championship match via forfeit. In three of his matches, Pilcher surrendered just one point and in one other match, he gave up two points.

Hazen, who placed for the first time this year, went 3-1 with a fall during the open. He won his first match, 8-3, before losing in the semifinals by a 3-2 count. However, Hazen responded by winning two matches in the consolation round, including one by fall, to take home third place.

Mines (0-1, 0-1 RMAC) will return to action Thursday night when it hosts Chadron State at 7:00 pm in Volk Gymnasium.
