STACEY CORYELL - DEFENSIVE LINE COACH

The 2001 season marks Stacy Coryell's first year on the Mines football staff, although he is no stranger to the CSM campus. Coryell, a Denver native, has coached the throwers on the Mines track & field squad for two years, and joins Stitt's staff this season to coach the defensive line.

Before coming to Mines, Coryell served for four years on the Wheat Ridge football coaching staff, three years as a defensive line and running backs coach and one year as the offensive coordinator. A Wheat Ridge High School graduate, Coryell played under Colorado coaching great JW "Red" Coats as his last All-American running back. Coryell graduated from the University of New Mexico on a full ride football scholarship in 1978 with a major in Business Management, lettering at UNM as a running back. He currently works as a telecom systems consultant at Contact LLC. He presently lives in Wheat Ridge with his wife of 23 years, Jan, and their son Jacob and daughter Taylor. Jacob, 23, who played under his father at Wheat Ridge High, won the 4A Colorado State Football title in 1994, and attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney where he started at middle linebacker. Taylor, 13, is an eighth grader at Everett-Middle School and enjoys playing softball and volleyball. In his free time, Coach "C" enjoys golfing, fishing, and hunting.
