Research
Description
Dr. Ogg focuses
on courses for the BELS curriculum. He earned his B.A. in Psychology
from Albion College, in Michigan. After graduation, he pursued an education
in Biology, eventually joining the Molecular Biology Graduate Program
at the University of Iowa, where he received his Ph.D. His thesis explored
the ability of Herpes Simplex Virus to disrupt a cellular process called
Programmed Cell Death. Findings from his research have implications for
infectious disease and cancer biology. At the University of Iowa, Dr.
Ogg learned standard cell and molecular techniques, such genetic engineering,
flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, and more. He has taught Biology
courses here at CSM for three semesters as an adjunct faculty member,
and is pleased to be a part of the growing Biology curriculum on campus.
