Each student gives one presentation during the semester
on a topic concerning undergraduate mathematical and/or computer sciences
techniques. The student is required to submit a title and abstract of the
presentation one week in advance and a written report no later than one
week after the presentation. The written report related to the presentation
will be critiqued and graded. The student will then revise it in accordance
with the comments and resubmit it for a final grade. Students are required
to ask the speaker meaningful questions at the end of the presentation.
Attendance is required.

| Abstract |
- The abstract should be between 50 and 100 words.
- The abstract must include the title.
- The abstract should be submitted electronically as plain text embedded in

- The length of the presentation should be in the range of 30 - 40 minutes.
There will be a penalty of 1 – 5 points if it is extremely outside the range.
- The presentation should have a significant mathematical and/or computer
science content. More credit will be given to talks that demonstrate some
originality.
- References with complete citations must be listed on the last transparency
of the talk.
- It is the student’s responsibility to arrange for all materials required
for the presentation, including the reservation of electronic devices such

- The written report should be approximately three pages in length, single spaced,

- You will be graded by the quality and quantity of the questions asked.
|
| Attendance |
