Resources with which physics network users should become familiar include:
- The Wolfram WWW site
which has Mathematica packages and Notebooks free
for the downloading, illustrating their use in a wide variety of
disciplines. It is very frequently updated and has searchable indices.
Unfortunately Wolfram Research appears to be more interested
in helping develop commercial add-ons than in encouraging distribution
of non-commercial user-developed tools.
- MathWorld
is a general mathematics
resource with good general articles and references. If you don't recognize a function
that Mathematica uses as part of a solution, look up more at MathWorld. Make
yourself a nerdy little ringtone
here.
- The Mathematica Usenet newsgroup
comp.soft-sys.math.mathematica,
where thousands of Mathematica users have confronted and resolved difficulties since
the early 1990s.
- Getting started with version 5.2
- Old but good tutorials
- DMW examples from physics courses
