Accessible Stream Fishing

John proposes that students develop access to a stream for people confined to wheelchairs. This universal design concept presents many challenges in terms of structure, materials and safety. Students need to think creatively to overcome constraints imposed by the stream flow, bank stability and wheelchair designs. Data analysis might include the geometry associated with the land contours and structural design. Students should research materials that support their designs. Students have access to the stream and can take field trips to test various components of their design.
