Program Details

Scholarship Recipients Will:

  • Maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average
  • Maintain full-time status in either the Engineering or the Mathematical and Computer Sciences department
  • Attend weekly meetings with a research advisor or a mentor, as specified by Program Manager
  • Participate in a community service project that contributes to humanitarian engineering or outreach science (a project will be given to students at the beginning of their first semester in the program)
  • Devote at least five hours per week toward their project (undergraduate students) or at least ten hours per week toward their project (graduate students)
  • Contribute appropriate ideas for new projects at the end of each year
  • Complete the appropriate course work to receive a minor in Humanitarian Engineering upon successful completion of the projects (undergraduate students) or take one class in the Humanitarian Engineering program each semester (graduate students)
  • Assist in recruitment of additional students to the program
