Ultimately, the role of all information technology resources and services at Mines is to facilitate your scholarship. Whether you are a student, instructor or researcher, the information infrastructure is here to support you and help you succeed. Our job is to help design and implement computing, networking and applications solutions for the Mines community and to deliver and support resources and services in the areas of computing, networking and telecommunications.Server Rack

 Some of the principal resources and services we provide are:

  • Campus networking including housing networks
  • Campus wireless networks including housing
  • Connections and access to the commercial Internet and  Internet 2
  • Campus telecommunications including telephone and VoIP services
  • Network security including firewalls and Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
  • Software site and volume license administration for selected applications
  • Web site hosting and administration
  • Server hosting
  • Printing – laser, color and poster printing
  • Scanning - desktop, large format, and OMR
  • E-mail, mailing lists, calendaring, campus portal
  • Blackboard Learning Management System management and support
  • Short term equipment checkout and loan (mostly laptops and projectors)
  • Computer labs and conference room scheduling
  • Classroom A/V and related technologies support
  • Videoconferencing
  • Mines Help Center
  • Student and Professional Support Staff assistance
  • Department Desktop and Computer Lab Support
  • Enterprise and administrative systems development and support

Principal facilities and resources available to students and faculty:

  • Network connections in every residence hall room and campus apartment
  • Open computer labs in the CTLM Computer Commons and the Library
  • Computer teaching labs in academic buildings – generally open when not in use for class
  • Classroom presentation technologies (computers, electronic whiteboards, document cameras, etc.)
  • Central Linux systems
  • High performance computing systems
