Metallurgy and Materials
Metallurgical and materials engineers create, produce, test, and extract the materials for things we use every day --anything from the stuff that goes into making snowboards to the screen on your iPod TM.

What's different about it?

The Metallurgical and Materials Engineering program at CSM has an international reputation, plus it's the only comprehensive materials processing department in the United States. Though there are plenty of other materials programs out there to choose from, our focus on processing makes us unique.

Besides a strong emphasis on undergraduate teaching, the department also has a very active research program in which you can become involved with faculty in their research activities.

Through the combined B.S./M.S. Program, you can earn a B.S. and an M.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in five years.

What can I do with it?

CSM Metallurgical and Materials Engineering grads have gone on to law school, become quality engineers, performed risk management, worked abroad, and developed careers as engineers, salespeople, and managers at nearly every major metals and metallurgical company in the U.S. We even have alumni who studied strategies to preserve the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor.
