With
16 percent of the student body participating in varsity athletics and over
50 percent involved in intramurals, athletics are popular at MInes. Even so,
students often ask, Can I be an athlete and succeed as a student?
The answer is yes.
In the 2001-2002
school year, Mines student-athletes had an average 3.03 GPA while taking an
average course load of over 15 credit hours. Athletic and academic success
require commitment, discipline, and organization, and for Mines student-athletes,
those qualities make for both athletic and academic success. |
