Mines Ranks 6th for Increase in Scientific Publications

GOLDEN, Colo., Aug. 9, 2007 -- Colorado School of Mines is ranked sixth among 200 top U.S. universities in growth of global scientific publishing. The new National Science Foundation study, which covers more than a decade, found the overall number of publications by U.S. scientists has flattened, while the output from scientists in the European Union and emerging Asian nations has grown. The study was presented in the Aug. 3, 2007, issue of Science magazine.

Mines is one of eight universities recognized for growth in published research findings, with a 72 percent increase. The full list includes, in order:
