Patrol Division

 

The CSM Police Department is a full-service police agency with full police powers.  All CSM Police officers are certified police officers in the state of Colorado and are trained in the same manner as all other public law enforcement officers in the State. In addition, they receive at least 40 hours of mandatory in-service training each year as well as current law enforcement procedural training. 

   

The Department subscribes to a community-oriented policing philosophy and its officers are selected, in part, due to their strong skills in working with young people. The CSM Police Department maintains a close working relationship with the Golden Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, and other surrounding police agencies. Mutual Aid agreements are in force that not only provide for assistance when needed, but also allow for shared training and cooperative selective enforcement efforts. Working relationships are also maintained with state, federal, and all other appropriate components of the criminal justice system.

  

The Patrol Division includes:

• Chief of Police,
• 2 full time Sergeants
• 5 full time Police Officers,
• 3 part time Police Officers,
• multiple Reserve Police Officers,
• and an Administrative Assistant.

 

The patrol unit includes multiple specialty units such as the bicycle patrol, field training, reserve unit and, crime prevention.
