Special Request

 

 

Building Access After Hours

 

All special request such as unscheduled building unlocks/ access must be requested in writing to Public Safety at least 3 business days prior to the event.  

 

If you need regular access to a building after hours contact your department head to arrange blaster card access.

 

 With out an approved prior/ current request, access will not be granted.

 

 

Officer Extra Duty

 

All officer extra duty request also need to be submitted in writing with enough time for extra offices to be scheduled and or approved. (there is a charge for officer extra duty) Sugested time is 1 to 3 months in advance of the event.

 

All events were alcohol is served must meet the schools alcohol policy.

Weapons Storage

 

Weapons are not authorized on the Colorado School of Mines Campus concealed or other wise, unless your are a certified Police officer. The Department of Public Safety will store out of state students firearms for them.

 

The weapons must be in unloaded and in a case, the weapons will be checked through CCIC/NCIC so the weapon must have a legible serial number, and all students must also provide valid state issued identification and a blaster card at any time the weapons is either stored or retrieved at the DPS office.

 

Due to storage limitations in-state and local students are asked to keep there firearms at home.

 

The Colorado School of Mines Department of Public Safety does not assume any responsibility for lost, stolen or damage that may occur to a firearm or item stored at  the DPS office.

 

If there is a question whether a firearm is legal to posses the firearm will be confiscated and taken to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for testing and identification and will not be returned to the owner until this is completed and the fire arm is determined to be legal to posses. .
