Parking Fee Schedule
A.
Student Parking Fee: A Student Parking
Fee (currently)
$50.00 per semester is
payable at registration.
This fee includes vehicle registration, among a variety of other services. This
is a mandatory fee paid by all students, but may be waived each semester if a student does not bring a vehicle to campus.
B. Faculty and Staff Vehicle Registration and Reserved Space Fee: A fee
of
$195.00 per year is charged for assigned spaces in "controlled"
parking lots. Persons who are
not assigned an individual parking space in a controlled off-street lot are charged a fee of
$125.00
per year. These fees are payable on or before September 1st of each year.
This fee shall be charged for vehicle registration and a reserved parking space,
if available, in any CSM owned or operated parking lot or parking area. If a
faculty or staff member newly registers a motor vehicle after the academic year has
begun, a pro-rated fee shall be charged.
C. Faculty and Staff General Vehicle Registration Fee: There is no charge for faculty and staff members to park in general parking areas on campus, including street parking. However, such persons must still register their vehicle and recieve a General parking permit.
For staff who are not on the Mines payroll, general permits are available for $55.00
per year payable on or
before September 1st each year.
This fee shall be charged for vehicle registration and non-reserved parking on
the CSM campus.
D. Additional or Replacement Vehicle Registration Stickers and Parking
Permits:
Additional vehicle parking permits for
reserved spaces and general parking registration are not available from
the Department of Public Safety becuase the permits are repositional. Replacement permits will be issued for a $10 fee when the request is accompanied by a police report of the theft or lss. . Additional or replacement student permits are
available for $10 fee.
E. Penalties:
When vehicles are removed via tow,
the owner/operator is responsible for any charges levied by the tow company and
a Dept. of Public Safety service fee of $100 (one hundred dollars). This fee
must be paid before the vehicle may be released by the tow company.
When vehicles are immobilized pursuant to section VIII. D., a fee of $100 (one hundred dollars) must be paid to the Department of Public Safety to have the immobilizing device (boot) removed. In addition to these fees, all outstanding fines and penalties must be paid before the vehicle will be released.
Vehicles with an excessive parking citation history (paid or unpaid) are subject to immobilization and or impound , upon the next violation.
