Parking

 

The CSM Vehicle Operation and Vehicle Parking Policy adopted by the CSM Board of Trustees is intended to promote safe driving by operators of vehicles utilizing streets, driveways, and parking lots on the CSM campus. Additionally, it is intended to allocate scarce parking space throughout the CSM campus on an equitable basis. All vehicles parking within the boundaries of the CSM campus are required to display a CSM vehicle registration permit or a temporary parking permit. CSM students, staff, and faculty can register their vehicles and pick up their vehicle permits from the Department of Public Safety office. Department staff are also present at registration to register vehicles and issue registration permits. Campus visitors can obtain temporary visitor parking permits from either the department where they have business or at the Public Safety office at 1812 Illinois Street (on the northwest corner of 19th Street and Illinois Street).

Certain parking lots on campus are labeled as Reserved lots. Use of these lots, Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, is restricted to those persons who have leased a reserved parking place. A small number of parking spaces are reserved at all times, and are so posted. Vehicles parked in reserved spaces without the appropriate permit may be ticketed, as will violators of other provisions of the parking regulations.

Visitor parking is available on the streets within the campus and in lots labeled for "Student / Visitor" use. In addition, there are some parking spaces with time limitations, which are reserved for use by campus visitors.
