Mines Athletics

Colorado School of Mines’ intercollegiate athletics program provides student-athletes with the opportunity to participate in 18 varsity sports, more than any other state institution in Colorado. As one of 14 schools in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Mines provides an excellent opportunity and environment for both the scholar and the athlete. The RMAC is an NCAA Division II affiliate consisting of 10 institutions in Colorado, and two each in Nebraska and New Mexico.

In June of 2008, the Clear Creek Project commenced at Mines. The project is a three-phase initiative to develop, expand and upgrade the facilities of Mines Athletics. Phase 1 includes a new soccer stadium and a new track & field facility, Phase 2 is a new 200-space parking lot northwest of Brooks Field and Phase 3 is the replacement of Brooks Field with a new football complex. Phase 1 of the project is scheduled to be completed during fall 2008. The Mines soccer teams will play their home matches at Long Lake Ranch Park in Arvada in 2008 due to Clear Creek Project construction.

Additionally, Mines offers intramural and club sports programs, as well as physical activity classes for the recreational athlete. The athletics staff also provides a wide range of summer camps and clinics each year. Camps offered include basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, wrestling and youth sports.
