Leadership Team
Jen Gagne
Executive Director of Admissions
Jen joined the Admissions team in 2022 as the Associate Director of Graduate Admissions after working in CASA, the Center for Academic Services & Advising, for five years. Jen is responsible for leading comprehensive student recruitment and admission strategies to attract, recruit and enroll highly qualified students.
Maura Koch
Director of Admissions for
Systems
As the Director of Admissions for Systems, Maura supports graduate and undergraduate admissions through the management of prospective student, applicant and enrollment data. She enhances existing data management while developing new reporting and comprehensive tracking systems to increase the effectiveness of the university’s enrollment efforts. She also oversees the internal systems team.
Luke Contreras
Director of Admissions for
Recruitment Strategy
Luke is the Director of Admissions for Recruitment Strategy. In his role, he hopes to be a resource and helping hand to the future generation of Orediggers. He coordinates with members of the Recruitment Team to meet future students and their families to talk about the amazing opportunities Mines provides. Luke loves presenting to groups of visitors and being a voice for the institution.
Louisa Duley
Director of Admissions for
Special Populations
Louisa has been in the Oredigger family for over 20 years. She is originally from Colorado, born and raised in Salida, and went to college in Gunnison, which is one of the reasons she loves Golden and is passionate about serving our small-town Colorado students. She specializes in out-of-state recruitment events, overseeing undergraduate enrollment’s role in reaching Mines@150 goals, working closely with athletes and coaches and serving as the the Director of SUMMET.
Brogan Boles

Graduate Recruitment
Brogan joined the Mines team in 2021 and is the Director of Admissions for Marketing and Communications. She is responsible for providing strategic direction for marketing and communication efforts for new graduate and undergraduate student recruitment and enrollment. She also oversees the office’s internal marketing team.
Cara Moita
Admissions Office Specialist
Cara joined the Mines Admissions team in 2023 as the Office Specialist. She works closely with outside vendors on contracts for the Admissions team, makes purchases for office materials and equipment, and ensures that the Admissions office runs smoothly.
Recruitment & Visit Programs
The Recruitment Team meet and correspond with prospective students and family members. This team manages all off-campus recruitment events, as well as on-campus tours and visit experiences.
Natalie Waddington
Admissions Counselor
Undergraduate Recruitment
Natalie joined the Mines team in 2022. As an Admissions Counselor, Natalie works with prospective students and applicants to help them navigate the college search and application process. This includes recruitment efforts in Colorado and beyond. She is also responsible for reviewing applications and plays a key role in developing and supporting programming for prospective and accepted undergraduate students.

Carolina joined the Mines Admissions team in 2023 as an Admissions Counselor with a focus on Access Programming. This includes recruitment efforts in Colorado and beyond. She is also responsible for reviewing applications and plays a key role in developing and supporting programming for prospective and accepted undergraduate students.

Sam joined the Mines Admissions team in 2023 as an Admissions Counselor. This includes recruitment efforts in Colorado and beyond. He is also responsible for reviewing applications and plays a key role in developing and supporting programming for prospective and accepted undergraduate students.

Danielle Dworak
Transfer Enrollment Coordinator
Danielle brings over 16 years of experience in Higher Education working primarily with non-traditional students and is excited to serve incoming and current Transfer students here at Colorado School of Mines. As the Transfer Enrollment Coordinator, she helps prospective transfer students through the admissions process, understanding and maximizing their course credits, and connecting them to the wealth of resources on campus that will help them have a positive and successful educational experience at Mines.
Josephine Richardson
Graduate Recruiter
Josephine joined the Mines community in 2021. As a Graduate Recruiter, she supports recruitment efforts in Colorado and beyond. She is also responsible for reviewing applications and plays a key role in developing and supporting programming for prospective and accepted graduate students. Her passion is helping first-generation students from underserved communities realize their collegiate dreams.
Nicholas Fernandez
Admissions Counselor
Graduate International
Nick joined the Mines community in 2022. As the Graduate International Admissions Counselor, he is responsible for representing Colorado School of Mines to international prospective graduate students , helping to increase graduate enrollment while promoting equitable and clear communications and support for students interested from outside the country. He also oversees our graduate student ambassador program.
Peter Concepcion
Graduate Recruiter
Peter joined the Graduate Admissions Office in 2023 but has been at Mines since 2021, previously serving as the Graduate Program Manager for ME. As a Graduate Recruiter, he supports recruitment efforts in Colorado and beyond. He is also responsible for reviewing applications and plays a key role in developing programming for prospective and accepted graduate students. His passion is supporting students of underserved communities and underrepresented identities achieve their personal, professional, and academic goals through providing a pathway to Graduate School.

Visit Experiences
Corinne joined the Admissions Office in 2022 and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions – Visit Experiences. She is responsible for planning campus visit events and oversees our Student Ambassador program. She also participates in recruitment events across Colorado and beyond.
Antonette Steinmann
Visit Coordinator
Antonette joined the Admissions Office in 2023 and currently serves as the Campus Visit Coordinator. She is responsible for collaborating with the Assistant Director of Admissions – Visit Experiences to plan campus visit events and helps oversees our Student Office Assistant program. She also participates in recruitment events across Colorado and beyond.
Sadie McMurrer
Visit Coordinator
Sadie joined the Admissions Office in 2023 and currently serves as the Campus Visit Coordinator. She is responsible for collaborating with the Assistant Director of Admissions – Visit Experiences to plan campus visit events and helps oversees our Student Ambassador program. She also participates in recruitment events across Colorado and beyond.
Gema Cervantes
Scholars Program Coordinator
Gema joined the Admissions Office in 2023 and currently serves as the Scholars Program Coordinator. She is responsible for developing and overseeing events related to Mines’ scholarship programs in order to support prospective and accepted students. She has a passion for helping first-generation students receive an education.
Marketing
The Marketing Team is responsible for all communications with prospective students, families and community members. This includes development of email, web and digital campaigns, as well as print pieces, promotional materials and more.
Julie Ann Williams
Assistant Director of Admissions
Graduate Marketing
Julie Ann joined Mines in 2019, and the Admissions team in 2022. As the Assistant Director of Admissions – Graduate Marketing, she is responsible for supporting admissions marketing and communication initiatives that help drive graduate student recruitment and enrollment goals at Mines. This includes oversight of print and digital brand management, as well as the marketing coordinator position and student marketing assistant roles.
Casey Baker
Marketing Coordinator
Casey, a Colorado native, graduated from the Metropolitan State University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and a bachelor’s in video production. He enjoys spending his time with his puppy and watching anime. Casey is excited to be at Colorado School of Mines helping to promote its values and mission to future students. Casey has a profound interest in new technology and the potential implication on how different fields can be bettered with the technology’s development.
Max Hamberger

Undergraduate Marketing
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Max joined the Mines team in 2020. As the Assistant Director of Admissions – Undergraduate Marketing, he is responsible for supporting admissions marketing and communication initiatives that help drive recruitment and enrollment goals at Mines. This includes oversight of print and digital brand management, as well as the social media ambassador program.
Systems & Operations
The Systems & Operations team is responsible for processing applications, managing student data and developing new and innovative ways to streamline the admissions process. This team also oversees office management and logistics.
Stacy Seamans
Assistant Director of Admissions
Graduate Applications
Stacy is the assistant director of graduate admissions and is enthusiastic about helping prospective students apply for graduate school and guide them all the way through to the enrollment process. Stacy is proud to be an Oredigger because she knows that the students that graduate from Mines go on to excel in their professions and that their research is meaningful to the Earth’s environment.
Michele Douglass
Admissions Operations Specialist
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Michele moved to Denver in 2014 with her husband, two children and chocolate lab. Michele works primarily with college transcripts and is inspired everyday by the amazing students, faculty and staff at Mines. She enjoys the many sunny days of Colorado and its majestic mountains. Most of all, she loves going to the rink to watch her kids play hockey and DJing for their games.
Angel Dotson
Assistant Director of Admissions
Graduate Systems
As a part of the Graduate Admissions systems team Angel assists applicants and departments with any processing or application issues. She enjoys helping prospective and current students through the application and enrollment process and making sure our processes are as streamlined and straightforward as possible.
Michelle Herd
Admissions Systems Coordinator
Data Management
Michelle is a Diversity and Inclusion Champion dedicated to relationship building, organizational change and social impact. She has spent her career working in Higher Education, healthcare and start up cultures in positions focusing on executive leadership, information security, project and technology management and process improvement. After an eight-year hiatus, she’s excited to be back working in Higher Education and couldn’t be happier calling herself an Oredigger.
Debbie Barabas
Application Coordinator
Debbie started working part-time remotely in June 2022 as the System Assistant then moved into her current full-time position as the Application Coordinator in January 2023. As part of the Systems team, she provides support for both the Graduate and Undergraduate areas with daily processing and loading of application data, cleanup and reconciliation of fee payments and deposits. Debbie has over 22 years of student service experience in higher education and enjoys helping students reach their educational goals.
