Mines ranks in U.S. News' Top 50 Public National Universities

GOLDEN, Colo., Aug. 20, 2009 – Colorado School of Mines ranked 34th in the Top 50 Public National Universities and 77th among Best National Universities, both public and private, according to the 2010 edition of America’s Best Colleges by U.S. News and World Report released today.

Mines also ranked 51st for Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs at schools whose highest degree is a doctorate.
 
The rankings, which include more than 1,400 accredited four-year schools nationwide, are available at www.usnews.com/colleges.
 
In the 2009 edition, Mines was ranked 36th in the Top 50 Public National Universities and 80th among Best National Universities. Mines received a rank of 51 for Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs.
