Mines top ranked Colorado university in Kiplinger's 100 Best Values in Public Colleges 2011

GOLDEN, Colo., Jan. 5, 2011 – Colorado School of Mines was ranked 59th in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine’s February 2011 feature “Best Values in Public Colleges 2011.”
 
The University of Colorado ranked 85th while Colorado State University ranked 90th. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill came in first.
 
The magazine bases its rankings on a combination of academics and affordability looking at data from nearly 500 traditional, public, four-year universities with broad-based curricula. In its scoring system, academic quality carries more weight than costs.
