Mines co-hosts international fuel cell conference

GOLDEN, Colo., June 12, 2008 – Colorado School of Mines President M.W. “Bill” Scoggins will deliver the keynote address opening the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) 6^th International Conference on Fuel Cell Science, Engineering, and Technology held June 15-18 at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Denver.

Dr. Scoggins will discuss many ways in which the state and Colorado School of Mines are strategically tackling energy issues, including the role fuel cell technology plays in the energy portfolio.

The conference – geared toward manufacturers of fuel cells and fuel cell components, utility staff and decision makers, the fuel cell research community, the business and investment community, educators and students – will serve as a platform to exchange information, experiences and insights. Participants will discuss technological advances, identify barriers and determine methods to further stimulate research activity.
